This year we’re celebrating an amazing 5 billion Mectizan treatments donated to end river blindness and lymphatic filariasis.
A milestone this momentous merits a big celebration. In April we headed to Togo, the first country in Africa to be validated for elimination of lymphatic filariasis, to enjoy a wonderful day with the people of Kouvé Gboli. After a program including remarks from dignitaries, student skits, dancing, and music, MSD representative Marilyn Mainardi distributed the ceremonial 5 billionth treatment to Mrs. Amavi Amouzou.
