Video: MDP celebrates anniversary of the WHO NTD Road Map 2021-2030

For years oncho and lymphatic filariasis have ravaged individuals, families, and communities. And for years we have been fighting to beat them. Thanks to the decades-long donations of Mectizan by Merck & Co., Inc., and albendazole by GSK and thousands of volunteers trained to get treatments to the heart of communities, countries are now winning! Togo was the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to eliminate lymphatic filariasis. Since then, Yemen and Malawi were also validated by WHO for eliminating lymphatic filariasis. Malawi and Niger are on the verge of eliminating oncho. Next steps? Elimination of oncho in 12 countries by 2030. Elimination of LF in 58 countries by 2030. We have the tools. We have the potential. We have the commitment. Together we can achieve the 2021-2030 WHO NTD Road Map Goals.
