Kebbi is a state located in the northwestern region of Nigeria. Working in partnership for years, the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Health, Sightsavers, and a network of health providers and volunteers carried out campaigns to end river blindness (onchocerciasis) in Kebbi. In 2017 they succeeded. But their job is not over: “Having interrupted that transmission of oncho in Kebbi State we are trying to be sure that the disease is gone for good.” This video explains how they did it and what comes next.
